Alfred Leete (1882 - 1933) Biography Born in Northampton, England, Alfred studied at Weston-Super-Mare Grammar school before becoming a printer. Following publication in a 1905 edition of Punch magazine, Leete went on to become a full-time illustrator, known for his famous Lord Kitchener poster design, which originally appeared on the cover of London Opinion (poster available for purchase – see below). Leete illustrated several books and continued to work for Punch Magazine until his death.
