 | Captain Bruce Bairnsfather (1888 – 1959) BiographyBruce Bairnsfather was born in Murree, India and was educated at the United Services College, Westward Ho. He initially studied to become an engineer but later in 1914, joined the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and served in France until 1916. He was known as a humorist and cartoonist, with black and white sketches depicting life in the trenches which appeared in Bystander. He also illustrated adverts for Beecham’s Pills. |
